How we met (again) :
Fast forward 7 years to the Plum Grove Swim Team. Andrea had already been head coach for 2 years but as the team continued to grow - another coach was needed. Cue Adam Clementi - a then recent graduate of Miami University in Ohio - with a then flexible job. He jumped at the chance to work outside on a pool deck during his 1st full post-graduate summer. Little did he know who was waiting for him on that pool deck. Through the "Plum Grove mothers network" Andrea knew all to well who the new coach was going to be. (It's said that when she heard the news for the first time, she was on the verge of hyperventilating). Once the summer started, it wasn't a one-sided infatuation anymore - as cliché as it may sound, across a crowded room (pool) Adam watched Andrea coaching the little ones and was hooked. As the summer quickly passed, Adam and Andrea not only got to see each other each morning, but on Adam's birthday, the 3 coaches and another friend went out to Portillos to celebrate. They had a blast! Adam's head wouldn't stop spinning. So he started to call and FINALLY after 5 dates (dinner, a 311 concert, bowling, another movie, and trip to Navy Pier) on Andrea's last summer night before returning to University of Iowa for her sophomore year, Adam mustered up the courage to kiss her. On the night of the 5th date, with the lights of the Chicago skyline sparkling, at the top of the Ferris Wheel . . . Adam chickened out and nothing happened. On the drive home, Adam came up with a plan - they used their coaching keys and snuck into the pool for a summer night swim. Just before Andrea was about to call it a night, Adam grabbed her and pulled her close, he stopped his nervous rambling just long enough to kiss her . . . and the rest is history (in the making).
